Hope all my readers are enjoying all the nice Colorado weather because it has been really nice at Mines and every chance I get I'm outside, but most likely to see some more snow this weekend, but hopefully nothing as much as we got a couple weeks ago to cancel school right before Halloween. Since there was so much snow, the school did cancel school at 3pm Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday. Since we had all the snow, I decided to get out and take some pictures!!! I really enjoyed the campus and with all the snow it seemed like a wonderful day to just get out and play. I enjoyed taking the pictures and so many people looked at me weird cause I was in shorts and a T-shirt taking all the snow pics and it was like 28 degrees outside. My goal for the winter months is to wear shorts and a T-shirt as long as possible.

It has been a very busy past month with lots of events and activities to attend. I'll start with one of the greatest things about my Saturday's and being in band. The last home football game for the season was dominated with the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers winning 69 to 27!! It was a great game. Another great thing about not just Football games, but as a mines student you get to attend all home sporting events for free!! Also, depending on the instructor, you can use a ticket stub to make up for an absence in a gym class, of course you can only use that a couple times, but makes it nice if you have to study for a test and need that extra hour. One great thing about going to sports events though is that you can show school spirit, have a great time with friends, and I personally like them because of at the football games I get to play trumpet with the band.

Going off of the band thing, November11 was Veterans day and there was a early morning raising of the flag with the ROTC students running through procedures and a small portion of the band showed up and we performed the national anthem as it was raised. The picture I have is not on the day off, but it is the same location of the flag with Guggenheim Hall in the background. Also, keep an ear out for when the band will be playing, we will be having a couple Christmas Parades we are doing and there are words flying around about us having a photo shoot with a local tv station or two!

Another round of tests have gone by, I'm happy about some of them and not very happy about others, but it is a big challenge coming up to the college level and adjusting to new techniques. The best thing to do is study, its been said many times and many ways, but it truly does help.

After a long weekend of now sleep and working on Homework I needed a break, so I decided to go with my roommates and a few other kids bowling. The local bowling alley is a great deal because it was only $3.50 for two games and for the shoes. There are lots of activates to do around campus.

One great thing about mines as well is the Giant "M" we have on Mt. Zion. Around holiday's, events' or special occasions, they will make the "M" light up in different colors and add some cool features to it, so I decided I would go up on special trip and get a picture of it just for my blog. I am very glad I made the drive up there because when I did, I was able to take a look at the entire Denver area as well as the surrounding cities as far as my eye could see. It is such a great view of the stars and city. Sorry about the blur, but when taking a picture at night from a very far distance with a digital camera is hard to do and make it clear, but the best way to see it is not in picture, but to stand on the side of the mountain, breathing in the fresh cool air and looking at the stars and city. Beautiful sight.

Hope you enjoy the pics everyone have a great Thanksgiving. Get out and go shopping on black Friday!! I know I am for sure. Getting a new phone and possibly a GPS for my car!!
