Felicia: Days Pass like Minutes
I cannot believe that school started only two months ago. Some days I feel as if I just moved in. Days are filled with going to class, studying, participating in extracurricular activities, and hanging out with friends. School has been somewhat tough, I never had to study in high school and now it seems like that is all I do, or try to do! My most difficult class is Biology and all I hope for is a passing grade! All my other classes are going well. Although classes can get tough, it is one of the things I like most about this school.
Mines is not all about academics! In fact, there are plenty of opportunities for fun and at times it can be a bit distracting. The homecoming theme was reinventing the wheel and for only 10 dollars, students received a bright orange t-shirt, a cup, and a free chipotle burrito! There was a parade in downtown Golden, a homecoming football game and the ballroom dance club hosted a homecoming dance. Some girls from Bradford 3rd decided to go and it was fun to get dressed up and dance the night away.
When fun is not enough, mischief can take place. The boys of Bradford 1st have a guardian (a donkey piñata head) and my friend Kara and I decided that it was time to add a little excitement to the monotony of dorm life. We stole the “guardian” and left clues behind that would eventually lead them to us. After the first clue had been left, the boys knew it was someone from the 3rd floor and they sought revenge. I remember waking up early to a knock on my door and when I opened it, I looked out into the hall way and it was covered in tissue paper!
After the toilet paper attack, the girls had to strike back. A group of girls came up with a plan and the night before our attack the whole floor came together and blew up 600 balloons and about 100 trash bags. We woke up at 3 in the morning ready to put the plan into action.
When all was said and done, the pranks were put to a stop when the director of resident life sent an email to the residents of Bradford. The pranks were considered to be a fire hazard and the guardian was returned safe and sound to the 1st floor. It was well worth the trouble because it bonded the girls on Bradford 3rd and gave us all something to laugh about with the boys of Bradford 1st!
