Application Procedures

For Freshmen, Transfer and International applicants:

Select the Undergraduate Application link at Apply Now to submit a Mines admissions application.

Freshman applicant: when entering the application link, choose 'FRESHMAN' if you will graduate from high school in spring 2012 (regardless of total college credits completed while in high school), or you have graduated from high school but haven't enrolled at a college, university or any other school after high school.

Items required for a Freshman application:

completed and submitted admission application
current, official high school transcript
ACT or SAT I exam results*

*Please contact the appropriate testing service. You can request ACT to send Mines your scores using the ACT Send Your Scores to Others website. The ACT school code for Mines is 0500; for SAT scores, submit your request using the College Board Send Your Scores website. The College Board school code for Mines is 4073.

Transfer applicant: when entering the application link, choose 'TRANSFER' if you are a high school graduate who has registered or enrolled at a college, university or other school since graduating from high school.

Items required for a Transfer applicant:

completed and submitted admission application
official college transcript(s) from ALL colleges attended
$45 Transfer application processing fee
final, official high school transcript - required for application review if applying within 12 months of high school graduation. Otherwise, this document must be on file prior to enrollment

International applicant: when entering application link, choose the appropriate 'FRESHMAN' or 'TRANSFER' application option.

A number of additional documents are required for an International student applicant.

Please follow instructions provided on the International Students Undergraduate Application Procedures website to complete your application.

If you prefer to use a paper application, you may call 888-446-9489 or e-mail the Admissions Office. Paper applications require a $45 fee. The Colorado Uniform Application is available in all Colorado High Schools.

Returning Students:

If you previously attended Mines as a degree-seeking student and would like to return, please print the returning student application , complete and submit it to the Admissions Office. We will mail you a letter regarding your status.
