Lots of Stress and Upcoming Fun Times

I must unfortunately begin my second blog entry by informing you that this one is going to be significantly shorter than my first entry. This is a sad fact indeed, and I owe it to the fact that I am quite a bit busier now than I was when I wrote my first entry. Here is how my life looks for the next few weeks: wave of projects, wave of tests, then another wave of projects, and then finals! Luckily it’s only about one and a half months until this semester is over.

Everyone just returned from spring break this week, and it was quite wonderful to have the week off. I celebrated my temporary freedom by getting my wisdom teeth out! Needless, to say, it was a pretty great spring break. All sarcasm aside though, it was fantastic to spend the week being lazy at home, spending time with family, seeing friends, reading, and watching NHL games.

Happily there are some wonderful events coming up at Mines! First, this weekend is PIG DINNER! This is a Fiji event where all of the graduates from our chapter are invited back to campus for the weekend. Fiji and all the grads are going bowling tonight which should be fun, and then tomorrow is the actual pig dinner itself, where we roast up an entire pig. Second, next weekend is E-DAYS! This is something I have heard a lot about, so I am quite excited to finally experience it. We get Friday off of school, and then there are awesome events all weekend, such as a concert by Cold War Kids, a fireworks display, comedians, the orecart pull down to the state capitol in Denver, and a lot more.

It’s tough to believe how fast this year is moving along. All too soon I will be moving out of good old Maple Hall and on to the rest of my life. Scary, but I am quite excited for all things to come! The weather here has been particularly wonderful this week, it seems as if the stifling blanket of winter has finally been removed from the shoulders of Golden leaving nothing but sunshine and good feelings in its wake. My first blog was too long to include all the pictures I wanted to have in there, so I’ll sign off with one that didn’t make the cut last time:

Calculus and Settlers of Catan are exciting things individually, but together… it’s like an explosion of joy. This is a typical Friday night for me here. If things like this make you as happy as they make me, then your college search is over.
