  • PIN Advising Hold
    • A 1-1 meeting is required for all second year and beyond students with a GPA  below 2.7
    • Dr. Gerald Bourne, Faculty Mentor or CASA advisor can release the pin advising hold.
    • Students can come to CASA drop-ins to have pin advising hold released.

    • A meeting with your CASA advisor is required for all declared students with a GPA below 2.5
    • Be sure to schedule a meeting with a CASA advisor to get your pin advising hold released prior to your registration time. Advising holds will not be released during drop-in advising.
Computer Science

    • Group Advising: The CS department hosts group advising meetings, called Interrupt. Interrupt is required for second-year CS students and will be held in March. In early March, check the CS Canvas page or your email to sign-up for one Interrupt meeting.

      • During Interrupt, students will receive information about the CS curriculum, electives being offered next semester, special topics courses, and registration tips. Second-year students must attend in order to receive their PIN for Fall and summer registration.

    • All second-year students will have a pin advising hold and must attend Interrupt (group advising) to have their hold released.
    • Students in their first, third, or fourth year at Mines are NOT required to attend Interrupt and do not have a pin advising hold registration unless under a 2.5 GPA.
    • New Transfer students do not have a pin advising hold, but are encouraged to attend Interrupt.
