FIRST YEAR STUDENTS – Registration Advisement for Summer & Fall 2025
first year students summer & fall 2025 Group Advising
Attend group advising for helpful information to best prepare for upcoming registration. We encourage you to attend live if you are able! A recorded version of each session will be posted to the Canvas site when available (around March 14).
Sessions are listed below. Use the links at the top of the table to register.
STEP 1:
Register for and attend virtual group advising. Group advising will cover answers to many of the frequently asked questions that advisors receive and include helpful planning and degree-specific information for summer & fall 2025 registration.
Register for only one session. Content will be the same across both time options. A recording will be made available after the first sessions have been completed.
STEP 2:
Using Degree Works and the Academic Catalog, go through your degree plan and credits and look at courses required in throughout your sophomore year to see what prerequisites they require you to take in Fall 2025 (and Summer 2025 if applicable). This will help inform you prior to attending group advising. You may think of some questions to ask during the session!
STEP 3:
Register for your classes. Registration begins the week of March 31st and the Registrar’s Office will email information on how to find your individual time ticket (the date and time when your registration opens). You can also access this information in your Student Profile (Student Services card in Trailhead) once tickets have been set.
Note: First-years with a Mines GPA below 2.5 with have a pin advising hold. Please schedule a pin meeting with your advisor to lift the hold to be able to register.
