FAB LAB SAFETY WEEK – SURPLUS PROPERTY

EHS will sponsor the removal of unwanted surplus property such as lab equipment, computers, and furniture owned by Mines during Fab Lab Safety Week. Please follow the steps below to get your surplus property removal scheduled during Fab Lab Safety Week.

STEP 1:   Determine if the surplus item is a Capital Asset. Capital Assets are valued over $5,000 and will have a white property tag. Download this Property Disposition Form, complete page 1, and email to poole@mines.edu. If no white property tag is found, go to Step 2.

STEP 2:  Determine if the item is working or not working.  For Working Surplus, please download and complete the CU Boulder EHS lab clearance form required for items to be sold at auction. EHS can assist with evaluation and clearance if necessary.

STEP 3:   Submit a workorder through FAMIS to have your items scheduled for pick up. Please attach a Capital Asset form (if required) and EHS Clearance form for auction items. On the work order, indicate the bldg., lab number, item description, and whether the item is working or non-working. Select Surplus-Working or Surplus-Non-Working on the workorder and it will select the correct person for you.
