September 2024 Dimension of the Month
Emotional Well-being
Monthly Challenge
Start a Gratitude Journal: A gratitude journal is a place to write down things that you are thankful for in your life. This can be anything – nice weather, a yummy meal, or a conversation with a friend, anything positive that happened to you and brought you comfort that day.
To help you get started, Every Oredigger will be distributing FREE gratitude journals on the Pedestrian Plaza from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 for the first 200 individuals that stop by.
Start or end a club or team meeting this month with an activity that addresses individual and collective well-being. Here are two options to consider that focus on emotional well-being:
Leveraging the 87 Human Emotions (PDF): Identify, understand, and manage your range of emotions. (Powerpoint Option)
Five Senses: A quick activity that invites participants to quiet and focus their minds.
There are many resources on campus and in the community to enhance your emotional well-being. Here are two newer services you may not know about:
Employees: Participate in a 12-week program offered by Meru Health that is proven to reduce anxiety, depression and burnout. Learn more about this special program on the Mines Benefits site.
Students: The Student Wellness Promotion Office offers four FREE Blaster Boxes designed to educate students on different topics of wellness. Order a Blaster Box.
