At the end of the last growing season, our garden had yielded an abundance of food, allowing us to cater a McBride event. We curated a series of appetizers, each featuring different produce we had grown over the summer, and served them to those attending the event. This was the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work and dedication, and seeing it all come to fruition was immensely satisfying. It was a tangible representation of our commitment to connecting people to their food, with each dish acting as a symbol of the lessons learned and the rewards reaped from dedicated effort. Through this event, we saw the potential impact of small-scale, local agriculture. It strengthened our resolve to continue pursuing sustainable practices and self-sufficiency. Additionally, it reinforced the importance of community and sharing the fruits of our labor. This event not only showcased our harvest but also emphasized the power of collective effort and the joy of sharing it with others.
