Ashley Weibel (she/her) is the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Research and Nationally Competitive Scholarships. She is passionate about fostering students’ passion for research and working with students to clarify and articulate their skills, interests, and aspirations in order to find and obtain scholarly experiences that align.
In her role, she manages the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships, which supports high-achieving students in their pursuit of nationally competitive scholarships through direct advising, faculty collaboration, academic programming, and the coordination of university endorsement. She also manages programming and administration of Undergraduate Research Scholars, alongside Dr. Lakshmi Krishna. Before joining Mines, Ashley worked in Career & Professional Development at the University of Denver, Fellowships Advising at Oregon State University, and completed a Fulbright grant in Bucarmanga, Colombia. She received her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, where she specialized in fellowships advising and international educaiton. Her favorite activities include running, singing in community choirs, reading, hiking, drinking tea and coffee, and spending time with dear friends and family.
