Message from the Chief Human Resources Officer

Christine Homer

Chief Human Resources Officer

I joined the Mines community as the Chief Human Resources Officer, in 2021. Prior to Mines I worked in Human Resources in multiple industries, leading talent management functions at large organizations. I enjoyed learning about different industries as I built teams, structures, and programs, guided by the organizations’ missions.

I feel at home at this extraordinary university, the Colorado School of Mines. I am the daughter of a tenured teaching professor, who was raised with significant appreciation and respect for the value of Higher Education. Dad dressed up and showed up day after day to educate his students at his campus. At night, he worked preparing lesson plans and correcting papers. He deeply respected his work, his colleagues, his university, and the impact he had on his students’ success. Mines’ mission, to produce the talent, knowledge, and solutions to serve industry and benefit society, aligns with my personal values and my upbringing. I’m proud to provide leadership across campus, and for the Human Resources function.

Mines is committed to building a vibrant campus community, one in which all feel not only included, but engaged and inspired in our work and our mission. Human Resources partners with campus to bring this vision to life; hiring the best people, engaging in learning and service, and providing a total rewards program that supports employees at every stage of life and career. We strive to be visible, trusted, accessible advisors to campus, and the employee advocate. Mines’ Human Resources team values each person on campus, whether student, faculty member, staff, or volunteer, for their contribution to our community.

If you are considering joining Mines, we hope you enjoy innovating and collaborating. We foster innovation through our work and partnerships with each other.  The gift of time is generously shared, which ensures excellence in outcomes and impact both on campus and beyond.

If this aligns with who you are, how you show up, and your career and professional goals, Mines may be the place for you! On this page, you will find some important links that can be helpful. If everything falls into place, I am excited to welcome you to campus!
