The Mines Asian Community Alliance (MACA) Book Club is excited to host author, filmmaker, and activist Curtis Chin on campus. Curtis will talk about his upcoming book, ”Everything I Learned, I Learned in A Chinese Restaurant”, a memoir set in a turbulent 1980s Detroit in his family’s popular Cantonese restaurant. It was here that the author came of age and learned to embrace his identity as a gay first-generation Chinese American. He will share his book and talk about his journey as a writer and activist, with the hopes of inspiring other writers and activists.
