Spring Orientation

Spring Orientation welcomes all incoming Orediggers who start their Mines journey in January 2025 and is designed to prepare students for a smooth and successful transition to Mines. This one-day orientation program is for those undergraduate students who have committed to enroll at Mines in January 2025 and have submitted their Enrollment Decision form and $200 Enrollment Deposit. Highlights of this program include:
- Sessions with Financial Aid, Bursar, Residence Life, and other offices that will share important details and deadlines
- Time to connect with current students and your new peers through peer discussions
- Meeting with the academic advising team from CASA to learn about how course enrollment works
- Resource fair with several departments and services at Mines
- Catered lunch & dinner
Spring Orientation will take place on Friday, January 3rd on the Mines campus. More detailed information will be communicated as we get closer to the event.

What is Spring Orientation?
Spring Orientation is our 1-day orientation program for incoming new first year and transfer undergraduate students. The schedule is filled with a variety of presentations, peer discussions, resource fairs, and conference-style presentations. Spring Orientation will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025.
Is Spring Orientation required?
Attending Spring Orientation is required for new students. Please contact nest@mines.edu if you are unable to attend your orientation day.
Where do you park for Spring Orientation?
As a new student, if you plan to park on campus during the Spring 2025 semester, you will need to register for a parking pass. You are welcome to park in any of the approved lots that correspond to your specific parking pass.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will want to wear comfortable shoes as you will do some walking around campus during the day. Additionally, the weather will likely be cold outside, but buildings are heated. You will be provided with a folder, notes pages, and a pen to take notes. You may also want to bring a water bottle as well.
What meals are provided?
Students will be provided lunch and dinner during the Spring Orientation day.
What does the schedule look like?
We are still in the process of finalizing the Spring Orientation schedule. You can expect to hear a welcome from Mines administration, some presentations from important offices on campus, peer discussions for students, an academic advising overview for students, resource and major fairs, and conference-style presentations. You will be provided with a specific schedule during check-in, which will start at 11:45am in the Student Center Grand Ballroom Lobby on the Mines campus. You can expect Spring Orientation to go until 5:30PM.
