Effect(s) on Occupants: Access to Alley between 17th and 18th and to Service vehicle spaces
The contractors for Energy and Mineral Research Facility will be working on 18th Street between Illinois and the fire lane at Spruce Hall. Along with the alley between Maple Hall and the houses on Illinois St. This work consists of underground boring, which areas will be needed for staging piping, and large dirt piles.
This work will begin on Monday June 10, 2024, and last through July 31, 2024. There will be one lane access on the north side of 18th St. The parking in front of Starzer Welcome Center will be consumed by the construction, with the exception of the ADA spaces, those will not be disturbed.
The work in the alley will close access to the alley at 17th St., with the only access to the alley from 18th St., and this will leave one lane open for access to the back of the houses for parking, for Facilities, and for trash pickup.
As far as the impact on Spruce Hall, there will be access to the fire lane, and ADA parking, up until July 8 – 19. At that time the access to Spruce will be closed.
