Luis joined the Student Life team at Mines as the Director of the PASCAL Center in July 2021. Luis was born and raised in Arizona where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Regional Development. In 2006, Luis moved to Colorado to pursue his musical passions to obtain a 2nd bachelor’s degree in music technology and a master’s degree in recording arts. As a first generation student, Luis found his calling in higher education and worked at various institutions in Colorado, most recently at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

In 2015, Luis worked as the Associate Director of the MSU Denver Excel Program, an outreach and scholarship program which served low income, first generation, and minoritized students from underserved high schools in the Denver metro area. In his spare time, Luis enjoys spending time with family, playing with his naughty French Bulldog, Peanut, and traveling whenever he can.
