Privacy Compliance
The Colorado School of Mines values your rights and your trust and we actively seek to preserve the privacy rights of those who share information with us. The Privacy Office is part of the Office of Policy, Compliance, and Risk Management within the Administration & Operations division of the Colorado School of Mines. We believe privacy compliance is everyone’s responsibility, we strive to be a valued partner and advisor to students, faculty, management, and members of the executive leadership. We are committed to working with parties across campus to protect the integrity of data collected, created, transmitted, released and stored by Mines. In support of our effort to protect data, we work with stakeholders in the community to provide guidance, training, and consultation to further the University’s mission, and comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
Effective privacy can exist only upon a sound foundation of information security. We are dedicated to preventing unauthorized access to information, maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of information, and ensuring the appropriate use of information. We strive to put in place appropriate safeguards to secure the information we collect in all formats: on paper, electronically, and verbally.
