The Trads

The Traditional Halls, often referred to as the Trads,” were the first residence halls on Mines campus. The Trads are composed of four halls: Morgan, Thomas, Bradford, and Randall. These four halls are located between the Student Center West Campus Road with close proximity to the Arthur Lakes Library. This community offers single, double, and triple sized rooms in a communalstyle design with gendered floors.

  • 380 Students
  • Single, Double, and Triple Sized Rooms Available
  • Communal-Style with Gendered-floors
  • Social lounges located in each of the four buildings—Bradford, Morgan, Randall, and Thomas
  • One conference room located in Bradford Hall
  • Large lounges located in Bradford and Morgan
  • Community kitchen in each of the four buildings
  • Ping pong table
  • Music room
  • Large outdoor courtyard area, Cheuvront Commons with a barbeque grill
  • Indoor Bike Storage

Each hall a part of the Trads has its own community kitchen, laundry room, and social lounge area on the lower level. Between Thomas and Morgan is Vanderwerker Lounge, a large social area for all Trads residents to share. In this lounge, students have access to a ping pong table, vending machines, lounge seating, and a whiteboard. The Trads front desk is located in between Bradford and Thomas. Here, residents have access to a 3D printer and lounge seating along with games, cleaning supplies, and kitchen equipment that are available at the front desk.

Each Traditional Hall has its own room that can be accessed by residents of the Trads: Morgan has a library with lounge seating and an adjacent study room, Thomas features a music room, Bradford has a conference/study room, and Randall has a workout room with its own bench and weights.

Outside of the Trads students can enjoy Cheuvront Commons, a grill area, and 3 outdoor courtyards between buildings. Residents are even able to check out a volleyball net and more from the front desk to play outside!

The Trads include the Athleticism and Wellness SLC (in Randall Hall) and the Visual and Performing Arts SLC (in Morgan Hall).
