2025 SUMMET PARTICIPANT INFORMATION

The Summer Mines Engineering and Training Program
Undergraduate Admissions

About the Program

The Summer Mines Engineering and Training (SUMMET) Program is an engineering, science, and technology initiative tailored for rising high school seniors who are prospective first-generation college students.

SUMMET combines coursework, hands-on projects, team-building activities and social events. The program provides exposure to the lifestyle, opportunities, and challenges of college and is designed to help build skills and experiences for a smooth transition from high school to college.

The Commitment

SUMMET is a one-week commitment and students are not allowed to go home on visits or to leave campus during the program. If you attend SUMMET and need to leave early for anything other than an emergency, you will be required to pay the amount it costs to attend the one-week program. The approximate cost per student for SUMMET is $2,000. Please make sure you are committed to completing SUMMET before you begin. You were selected to attend SUMMET from a large pool of qualified students and we want to make sure you are completely committed to this opportunity. Please view all links at the bottom of this page and complete all required forms prior to your arrival on campus.

Computer Use

Please refer to the documents included below concerning the use of Colorado School of Mines computer rooms and internet facilities. During participation in the SUMMET Program, students will be required to use the facilities in a professional manner. No vandalism, profanity or obscenities will be tolerated. Any damage to the facilities by students is the responsibility of the students and their parents.
