Machine learning for characterization of damage in materials
Reza Hedayat
hedayat@mines.edu
The goal of the project is to identify and use the most appropriate machine learning algorithm for successful prediction of the materials behaviour and damage mechanism. In our research team, we conduct high quality experiments on concrete, rocks and geomaterials where detailed information on stress, strain, deformation, fracturing and signatures of damage are collected. The collected data will be used to train the ML algorithm and then to predict the behaviour.
