ACHIEVEMENT REWARDS FOR COLLEGE SCIENTISTS
Founded in 1958, the ARCS Foundation (Achievement Awards for College Scientists) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization started and run entirely by women who support American Leadership and aid advancement in science and technology. To address the country’s needs for new scientists and engineers, they provide unrestricted funding to help the country’s brightest graduate and undergraduate students to create new knowledge and innovative technologies. They sponsor talented, motivated American students at top national research universities by providing much needed scholarships.
Since 1979, the ARCS Foundation, Colorado Chapter has partnered with Mines and invested over $1.2 M in scholarship support.

The dedication of the ARCS Foundation to helping to fund the education of aspiring scientists at Mines makes a strong statement about the importance of providing financial resources to students in STEM disciplines and sends a powerful message of validation to other potential funders.
At Mines, we have witnessed first-hand ARCS Foundation, Colorado Chapter’s commitment to our students, and we are honored to be among the institutions that receive their support. ARCS Foundation currently supports 10 scholars each year and the awards are renewable for up to three years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be an undergraduate student in their sophomore, or junior. or senior year
- Be a graduate student
- Be enrolled full-time the entire 2023-2024 academic year
- Be in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics
- Have a 3.5 GPA or higher
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Apply for FASFA/financial aid and have this on file with the university
