The Academic Management Institute (AMI) is a leadership development program tailored to women’s leadership; however, the criteria, qualifications, and participation are not based on gender identity, but on a willingness to commit to advancing women’s leadership. AMI is organized by the Colorado Network of Women Leaders, which started in 1986 as part of a charge from the American Council on Education (ACE) to increase the number of women who served as college and university presidents or who held advanced leadership positions in institutions of higher education in the United States. This year-long experience trains leaders who are building careers and contributing to the colleges and universities of Colorado and Wyoming.

Since 1985, more than 1,200 women leaders from more than 30 institutions of higher education across Colorado and Wyoming have participated in the Academic Management Institute. For more information visit AMI.

At Mines we sponsor up to four employees each year to participate in the Academic Management Institute as a way to grow more women leaders on campus. The call for applications is normally sent out in the summer and representatives are chosen by the Mines’ AMI selection committee.

To apply for the 2024-2025 AMI Program, fill out this application no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024.
